Membership Requirements

PROFESSIONAL TITLE & ROLE

To be considered for Membership in The Descendants Council, an Applicant must hold a Title of “Director” or greater, including: Director, Managing Director, Vice President, Senior Vice President, President, Chairman, Founder, Co-Founder and all C-Suite Titles or equivalent.

This requirement applies to Public Companies, Private Companies, Nonprofit Organizations and Government Agencies as well.

DEMONSTRATED HISTORY OF IMPACT

Each Applicant for The Descendants Council must be able to demonstrate a history that clearly shows an interest in making a positive impact.

Typically, this membership requirement is assessed during the interactive part of the Application Process. Keep in mind that you may speak directly with our Membership Team, during the Application Process.

AGE

Applicants for The Descendants Council must be 30 years of age or older. Our Members range in age from early-30’s to late-70’s and everywhere in between.

As would be expected, our community of Members is incredibly diverse. We derive our values from the families of the greatest civil rights leaders in the history of the world itself and are committed to those values.

VALUE CIVILITY

We live in a contentious world - a world in which the concept of being civil with each other has all but been lost. The Descendants Council is committed to fostering a safe environment for our members, free from the tumultuousness of daily life.

Simply put, infighting between Members is not tolerated in our community. Our team closely monitors member interactions and will not hesitate to remove any member who creates disruption or otherwise causes any kind of harm to other members.

The Descendant Families

On February 13th, 2024, history was made. The Descendants families of Frederick Douglass, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Ida B. Wells, Sally Hemings, Booker T. Washington and several other iconic civil rights leaders gathered together for the first time in the entire history of The United States - at The White House.

Descendants Council Members have exclusive access to collaborate with the descendant families of the most iconic civil rights leaders in the history of The United States.

We are the only private network that offers this incredible opportunity in the entire world.

The Descendants Council is continually expanding to welcome new civil rights leaders' and figures' descendants into our exclusive community.

  • While filling out the Application itself takes minutes, the Application Process typically happens over a period of several days to a week.

    Our Application Process is interactive and will require you to communicate directly with our Membership Team. The majority of this communication takes place via email. That said, it is entirely possible that a phone call with our Membership Team may be required during your Application Process.

  • After your Application has been submitted, you will receive an email from one of our Membership Team staff.

    This email is not automated. Once you receive that email, you must reply in a reasonably swift manner. How you treat our Membership Team staff will help determine whether or not you are a fit for Membership in The Descendants Council.

    After our Membership Team staff receives your reply, they will continue to communicate with you directly and guide you through the rest of the Application Process.

  • The Descendants Council is an invitation only private network. Each person we invite is given a unique invitation code.

    All applications submitted from individuals who have not been formally invited to apply are automatically rejected.
